First Look at the 2017 Toyota 86 | Luther Brookdale Toyota Scion

The Scion FR-S is getting a facelift. Toyota is now calling it the 2017 Toyota 86, and it has some major street cred. It’ll feature more power, a new look and an updated interior.

Luther Brookdale Toyota Scion, your Toyota dealership in Brooklyn Center, MN, couldn’t be more pumped about this new take on the FR-S. Below, we’re giving you a first look at this exciting new car.

As some may know, Toyota is phasing out Scion. They had not planned to change the names of their cars, however they felt this sports car should adopt the global name of 86.

What changes has Toyota made for the Toyota 86? The most noticeable changes are to the lower front fascia with a larger center air intake and new bumper design. This makes the 86 look lower and wider. LED lights are added to the front and back. A new alloy wheel design and rear bumper are eye-catching.

In the cabin, drivers will enjoy the steering wheel with integrated audio controls and silver stitching. The door panels and dashboard are wrapped in new top-of-the-line materials.

Under the hood, it has a 2.0-liter output that produces 205 horsepower and 156 pd-ft. of torque. It offers additional performance thanks to its different rear ratios for the six-speed manual transmission, according to Toyota. It also has Hill Start Assist Control, new shock tuning and spring rates.

We’re looking forward to test driving the new Toyota 86. We’ll keep you updated on the release date.
